TOPIC

Math behind the Matter

Those that dive into Bitcoin are usually surprised to discover how deep and far reaching implications it has on human life and environment. Bitcoin is software, information, math, and cryptology, and yet it is already starting to describe a new and updated physical future for human flourishing. Surprisingly, math is effective in describing and predicting developments in our physical world. Why is that? Why does math work?

TOPIC

How do we know?

Bitcoin is a communication protocol of distributed decentralized databases. Bitcoin also has the slogan of “Don’t trust. Verify.” Is communication possible and how (if at all) can we trust the knowledge that we acquire through our senses? Agust presents a practical approach to this topic, drawing metaphors from how Bitcoin operates.

Discussion includes:

  • Critical thinking and how becoming self sovereign builds that.
  • Quantum entanglement and how we have evidence for truths that defy our everyday experience.
  • How engaging in communication, receiving and sharing, helps build a stronger worldview.

IN THIS EPISODE, SOME OF THE QUESTIONS FOR JIMMY:

  • When and how did you hear about Bitcoin for the first time?
  • Did studying Bitcoin change your thinking and how you understand the world from early on, and how?
  • With Bitcoin, for the first time in history we have an asset with fixed supply. This fixed supply of Bitcoin sounds very much like an absolute truth: Something always valid, regardless of parameters or context. Do you believe absolute truth exists, and has Bitcoin in any way shaped your conclusion on that?
  • Is it possible that we will see nations attempting communism controlled with AI and that Bitcoin is our best protection against that?
